Pre-Appointment

Tattoo Prep

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW!

Prior to your appointment, you should:

  • Moisturise the area you're having tattooed.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • If you're going out in the sun, make sure you use sunscreen. Unfortunately we can't tattoo sun-burnt skin, so if the area you're having tattooed is burnt, we will have to reschedule!
  • Please don't drink alcohol for a minimum of 24 hours prior to your appointment. Alcohol thins the blood so your tattoo may not heal as well.
  • Please be really careful with the area being tattooed! We can't tattoo over cuts, scratches, grazes, bruises, etc.
  • Get a good nights sleep!
  • For neck/head tattoos, the day prior to your appointment please clean shave the area, leaving no stubble! Be sure to do this to suit your skin type, e.g. use sensitive products for sensitive skin. We will not be able to tattoo over razor rash!

On the day of your appointment, you should:

  • Eat a good breakfast, the more carbs the better!
  • Bring snacks/sugary drinks with you! Maintaining your blood sugar levels is super important!
  • Don't hesitate to ask for breaks or ask any questions! You know your body best and we are here to make your experience as pleasant as possible!
  • Don't apologise about your body hair/worry about shaving! If you want to make the process faster, please only trim your hair as your artist will shave the area during your appointment.
  • Wear something comfortable! Please make sure the area getting tattooed can be easily accessed. See below for clothing we'd recommend!
  • If you're having your face tattooed, please avoid wearing make-up/fake tan.

Things we'd recommend wearing

Please wear loose and comfortable clothing to your appointment. Comfort is key and we need to ensure the area being tattooed can be easily accessed. Below is a list of things we would recommend wearing for the more 'awkward' areas.

We kindly ask all clients to thoroughly clean the area being tattooed before coming in for your appointment.

Hip Tattoos

  • Tie up bikini bottoms.
  • Loose boxers which can be rolled and taped up.

Thigh Tattoos

  • Loose shorts which can be rolled up.
  • A skirt or dress with a slit on the side of your tattoo.

Foot Tattoos

  • Sandals.
  • Flip Flops.
  • Sliders.

Intimate Tattoos

  • Please be aware if you are having an intimate area tattooed, your artist may need you to remove an item of clothing. privacy screens will be put up.
